Pukkila

Pukkila [ puk ilɑ ː ] is a municipality in the south of Finland with 2048 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). It is located in the countryside Uusimaa ( until 31 December 2010 in Eastern Uusimaa landscape ) on the river Porvoonjoki. The nearest town Porvoo 34 kilometers south, the capital Helsinki is located 81 kilometers south-west. The community is monolingual Finnish speakers.

In addition to the center of Pukkila with the wooden church from 1814 to the municipality includes the villages Naarkoski, Savijoki, Syvänoja, kantele and Torpinkylä. The lake Kanteleenjärvi at kantele is an important breeding area for birds.
