Pulaski County (Indiana)

Pulaski County is a county located in the state of Indiana in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Winamac.

Geography

The County is located in the central northwestern Indiana and has an area of 1126 square kilometers, of which two square miles are water. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Starke County, Marshall County, Fulton County, Cass County, White County and Jasper County.

History

Pulaski County was formed on February 7, 1835 from portions of Cass County and St. Joseph County. It was named after Casimir Pulaski, a former Polish soldier and politician, who emigrated to America and became a hero of the American Revolutionary War. He died in the Battle of Savannah.
