Pulletop bushfire

The Pulletop - bush fire occurred on February 6, 2006, approximately 30 km southeast of Wagga Wagga in New South Wales, Australia.

During the bush fire

The Pulletop bush fire started in hot and dry weather conditions by a tractor on the grounds Pulletop. This bush fire got out of control.

The New South Wales Rural Fire Service declared the bushfire to an emergency. As a 10 km ² of farmland were burning, she locked the Hume Highway in the afternoon, as there was a danger that the fire in the small rural places Humula, BookBook, Livingstone and Kyeamba assault. On 7 February 2006, improved weather conditions and the firefighters won in the inaccessible area of control of the fire.

Damage

Burned more than 90 square kilometers of farmland, 2500 sheep, 6 cattle, 3 cars, two barns and 50 km fence. The loss amounted to AUD 5 million. 19 houses and a telephone station could be protected from the fire.
