Pulsar wind nebula

A pulsar wind nebula (also called Plerion derived from the ancient Greek word " Pleres " for " full" - introduced by Weiler and Panagia ) is a characteristic -looking fog -like astronomical object that is created in the pulsar wind of a pulsar.

This pulsar is a stream of high-energy particles, produced by the extreme conditions in the vicinity of a pulsar. Under certain conditions ( formation of shock waves through the braking almost the speed of light particles entering the fog) it leads to the formation of a pulsar wind nebula. The radiation of the Plerions is beyond the range of the shock wave, as by magnetic fields of the pulsar leads to formation of synchrotron radiation and jets. A typical example of a pulsar wind nebula is the Crab Nebula.
