Pulversheim

Powder home is a commune with 2910 inhabitants ( January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. She is a member of the Mulhouse Alsace AgglomÃ.

Geography

Powder home is located about 13 kilometers north of Mulhouse. There, the road department D 2, in place depending on the section of Route d' Ensisheim (northeast ) or Route de Cernay (southwest ) runs is called. Neighboring communities of powder are home Unger home in the north, Ensisheim in the east, in the southeast Ruelisheim, Witten home and Wittel home in the south, west and Staffelfelden in Bollwiller in the northwest.

History

The town changed its name repeatedly. In the 8th century, it was called " Wolf Home Fingered " respectively "Wolf squad Haim " - the spelling was not uniform. Repeats the spelling was changed - from "Wolf" was also " Wulf ". It is known that the later Pulversheim 1369-1506 " Bulffersheim " and 1544 Wulfersheim was around 1725 and already carried its present name.

By the end of the 19th century the town was a farming village. In 1904 extensive potash deposits were in southern Alsace in exploratory drilling for oil in about 600 feet of water discovered. In Pulversheim the pit Rudolph was opened in 1913. This led to a significant increase in population. Meanwhile powder is home to a small town with about 2900 inhabitants - they call themselves Pulversheimois or Pulversheimoises - grown. The industry has settled mainly in the 20th century with various sectors of the economy. After the end of potash mining in the early 21st century, in particular the automotive industry (Peugeot) is more important.
