Origin and History

The Pumi is a Hungarian herding dog terrier similar. The roots of this breed are probably already in the 17th century, when German and French Merino sheep arrived with the associated terrier -like herding dog blows to Hungary. From crosses of these with the Puli Pumi originated. Because of his job performance, the resulting dog quickly became popular. The breed is first officially mentioned the late 18th century, but not yet differentiated by Puli Pumi and. It was not until the early 20th century both breeds were separated until about 1920, the Pumi was described as a West Hungarian Puli, recognized since 1924 as a separate breed.

Description

With a shoulder height of up to 47 cm and 15 kg weight of the herding dog belongs to the medium-sized dogs. Coarse not wiry outer coat, wavy, curly with soft undercoat identify him. Nature
