Punky Reggae Party

Punky Reggae Party ( to German as " punky reggae party " ) is a song by Jamaican reggae musician Bob Marley and his band The Wailers, formed in exile in London in 1977 after Marley was shot in his native Jamaica.

Marley met in London some punk bands like The Clash, Generation X and The Slits know. He was also inspired by Don Letts Dub DJing at the Roxy Club, and textual similarities between Marley aforementioned punk bands and recording of Punky Reggae Party with Lee Perry was on the set.

The nearly seven-minute studio version was released on the deluxe edition of Marley's Exodus album, a live recording of a concert in Paris from 1978 can be heard on the live album Babylon By Bus; Marley played the song also a few times on his 1978 tour, mostly as the second- last song before the Exodus. Both the studio and the live recordings have the key of B minor.
