Puruvesi

The Puruvesi is a lake in eastern Finland, in the landscapes of Southern Savo and North Karelia.

The lake is located in the town limits of Savonlinna and Kitee. He is part of the Saimaa lake system and adjacent to the southern lake Pihlajavesi.

The island-studded Puruvesi having a plurality of open water areas, the largest being Hummonselkä, Pajuselkä, Sammalselkä, Mustanselkä and Ruosteselkä.

The lake is known for its clear waters. In recent years, the Saimaa ringed seal was sighted in Puruvesi.
