Pushkar

Pushkar (Hindi: पुष्कर Puskar ) is a small town in the Indian state of Rajasthan, near the Thar Desert eleven kilometers northwest of Ajmer. The height of the place is about 510 meters.

The place had 2001 14.789 inhabitants. It is situated at the holy Pushkarsee where annual pilgrimage many devout Hindus to wash away and to bless their family and health. This is done in special pujas of companies located in Pushkar Brahmins. As a sign of blessing, a red dot is a painted on his forehead.

Sights very important for Rajasthan Tourism City are the only Brahma temple of India from the 14th century, the Ghats, about 400 smaller temples and in November annual Camel Fair ( Pushkar ka Mela ), come to the hundreds of thousands of people. The Camel Fair is one of the largest in the world; it's there for centuries.
