Puttelange-aux-Lacs

Puttelange -aux -Lacs ( German: Nailsworth, Rhine Franconian: Pitt compacts) is a commune with 3129 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region.

Geography

Characteristic of the immediate environment Puttelanges are the numerous ponds, the nature of the dust of the headwaters of the parent stream ( Moder stream ), a tributary of the Albe, were created. In the field Puttelanges are the Etang de Thau Welschhof Diefenbach and the two of the larger reservoirs (each more than 20 ha). They were created as part of the Maginot Line and are now for tourism ( camping ) and the recreational developed and especially loved by anglers. The relief to Puttelange is undulating and falls along the creek valley to the southeast mother gently. A quarter of the nearly 17 -acre municipal area is covered by forest.

Puttelange -aux -Lacs is located about ten kilometers from Sarreguemines and thus removed from the French- German border.

To Puttelange -aux -Lacs is one of the district of Dieffenbach- lès- Puttelange.

Neighboring communities of Puttelange -aux -Lacs are Loupershouse, Guebenhouse, Ernestviller, Grundviller, Rémering -lès- Puttelange, Saint -Jean -Rohrbach and Hoste.

History

In the year 1069 we find the first written notice of a settlement called Putilinga. For 1274, Henry IV, Count of Salm supplies as owner of the castle Puttelange, for 1409, the Counts of Nassau- Saarbrücken.

Puttelange lay on the Maginot Line. In 1944, large parts of the city and destroyed with it the remains of the castle.

Until 1971 the town was called Puttelange- lès- Farschviller.

Demographics

Puttelange was able to record with a break in the 1980s, a continuous, slight population growth.

Economy and infrastructure

In addition to some small craft and service companies Agriculture and horticulture are based in Puttelange. The convenient location between the industrial areas in Sarreguemines, Sarralbe and Freyming -Merlebach commute numerous inhabitants of the city to their jobs.

Tourism

The lakes around Puttelange -aux -Lacs draw in the summer season many water sports and fishing tourists. The annual town festival takes place after October 17 on the 1st Sunday.

Transport links

In Puttelange -aux -Lacs, the National Road 56 ( Saint- Avold - Sarralbe ) and 74 ( Nancy- Sarreguemines ) intersect. The city also has a direct connection to the motorway Paris -Strasbourg - but only from and to the west. The nearest train station is four kilometers in the northern Loupershouse on the railway line Béning - Sarreguemines -Bitche.
