Puzhal aeri

The Puzhal Lake (English Puzhal Lake, Tamil: புழல் ஏரி Puḻal Eri [ puɻəl per ː ɾi ] ) or Red Hills Lake (English Red Hills Lake, Tamil: செங்குன்ற ஏரி Ceṅkuṉṟa Eri [ seŋɡundrə per ː ɾi ] ) is an artificial lake near Chennai ( Madras), the capital of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The Puzhal Lake is located just northwest of Chennai around eleven kilometers from the city center in Ponneri Taluk Tiruvallur District. In the east and south, the Chennaier zones Madhavaram and Ambattur border on the banks of the Puzhal Lake. Bears his name the lake after the local situation Puzhal on the eastern shore.

The Puzhal Lake was built as a water reservoir 1868-1872. Its capacity is around 93 million cubic meters.
