Puzi

Puzi, also Puzih (Chinese朴子 市, pinyin Púzǐ Shì, Tongyong Pinyin Púzǐh Shih, W.-G. P'o -tzu Shih, PEH oē - jī pho - chí chhi ), is a city in Chiayi County of the Republic China on Taiwan.

Location

Puzi located in the western part of the district of Chiayi in the Jianan level, the largest level in Taiwan. At the northern edge of the Puzi River, which flows about ten kilometers to the west in the Formosastraße flows.

History

After Chiayi was spun off in 1982 from the Chiayi County and received the status of an independent city, the authorities of the district on the border between Puzi and the eastern neighboring community Taibao were settled. While the district administration is in the field of Taibao, is the seat of the county in Parliament Puzi.

For this reason Puzi received in 1992 as well as Taibao the official status of a city (市Chinese, Pinyin Shì ), which is normally reserved for municipalities with more than 150,000 inhabitants. Today Puzi has approximately 45,000 inhabitants it is one of the smallest among the 39 municipalities of the Republic of China with city status.
