Puzur-Ashur III

Puzur - Ashur III. ( Puzur - Aschschur, Puzur -Assur, Ashur is [ my ] protection ), son of Ashur nirari I., was an Assyrian king, the 65th king in the Assyrian King List. He ruled for 24 years ( according to version A of the king list only 14). His name seems to be also listed in the synchronistic king list, but is obtained only in traces. He was the same with Burna - Burias I., with the fixing its course the border with Karduniaš.

Puzur - Ashur bore the title of Viceroy of Ashur ( išši'ak Ashur ). Puzur - Ashur restored one room in the Ishtar Temple, built the Ilu - šuma and Šarru -Kin I ( Sargon I ) had restored, and had fallen into disrepair again, and also the Stufentor in the city of Ashur. A clay pot of Ashur bears the inscription: [ ownership of ] the palace of Ashur - Puzur.
