Puzzle video game#Hidden object game

The Wimmelspiel or hidden object game is a computer game form and version of the Computer Puzzle Games.

Description

Hidden object games have parallels to the point-and- click adventure. The player tries to find a most intricately designed, still or very little animated image, various objects, parts of objects or geometric figures. The difference to the Adventure consists mainly in the reduced combination and interaction of objects with each other. In addition, almost always appears in a point-and -click adventure game the character on the screen, which is not the case with Wimmelspielen. Generally Hidden objects are usually largely free of non-player characters.

There are Hidden objects, in which it only comes to discovering things and those in which images are framed by an act. In addition, there are programs that combine hidden objects with various other puzzle types, often called HOPA (acronym for Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure).

The difficulty of finding things is at least initially, is that the player is the type of display, and the shape, size, orientation and so does not know. Many terms also have multiple meanings. Sometimes things are not directly found, but hidden in another, so that they must be removed or opened only with a click.

In general, the search screen with music is highlighted. In some games, the objects must be found possible in a given time limit. Often a reference function is available. Some things are needed for further action.

Successive clicks in a short time on the screen so happened to find things is not possible because the mouse pointer then moves for a short time.
