Pydna (in Greek Πύδνα ( f sg ) ) is a district of the municipality Pydna - Kolindros created in 2010, which was named after the ancient city, which in ancient times was of great importance had an important port city of the Macedonian Empire. Pydna is located in a fertile region north of the plain of Pieria on Thermaic Gulf. To the west runs the trunk road that connects Thessaloniki with Larisa.

Antiquity

Today

Today's small town is located near the ruins of the ancient city. It has several schools, banks, a post office and a few places. On Thermaic golf there are sandy beaches.
