PyGTK

PyGTK is a set of wrappers for the Python programming language to access the GUI library GTK . PyGTK is licensed as free software under the LGPL. PyGTK was developed by the Gnome programmers James Henstridge.

With the transition to GTK 3.0 and GNOME 3.0 PyGTK is replaced by its successor pygobject, which makes GObject introspection advantage to generate links to libraries automatically. Pygobject is in contrast to PyGTK with Python 3 compatible.

Python wrapper around similar toolkits are PyQt for Qt library for wxWidgets and wxPython.
