Pyramaze

Pyramaze is a Danish / American progressive power metal band.

History

Pyramaze was founded in 2001 by guitarist Michael Kammeyer. Were included in the band of drummer Morten Sørensen ( Wuthering Heights ) and bassist Niels Kvist. The American keyboardist Jonah Weingarten, the Kammeyer had met on the internet it came up. The U.S. singer Lance King (former member of Balance of Power ) has been the lead singer.

The first live show of the band took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 23, 2004. She released her debut album, Melancholy Beast, in May 2004 and then went over the summer on tour. During this time the Danish guitarist Toke Skjønnemand joined the band.

In February 2006, the band released their second album, Legend of the Bone Carver, a concept album. On 15 September 2006 the band played at ProgPower USA VII festival in Atlanta, Georgia. Shortly thereafter, on 10 November 2006, gave the band members announced that the former vocalist Lance King has left the band.

On 14 April 2007, the then former ( and now returned ) singer of Iced Earth, Matthew Barlow, the new vocalist and celebrated his comeback in the metal scene. On 11 December 2007 the Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer and band leader announced that Matt Barlow had returned to the band. He completed nor the recordings for the album Immortal and left Pyramaze thereafter.

On 13 March 2008, published Pyramaze demos of two songs from Immortal, "Year of the Phoenix " and " Caramon 's Poem. " The album was released on 30 May 2008.

July 11, 2008 Pyramaze announced that the former Tad Morose and active Blood Bound singer Urban Breed new lead singer is. His first activities with Pyramaze were the gigs on the Danish tour in November 2008 as a support of Volbeat. Currently the band is working on a new album.
