Pyranja
Pyranja [ ˌ pyra ː nja ] (born 1978 in Rostock, civil Anja Käckenmeister ) is a German rapper. A higher profile outside the hip- hop scene she gained mainly due to their participation in the Federal Vision Song Contest 2006 in which she took for her home state of Mecklenburg -Vorpommern and could reach the eighth.
Her stage name is a pun on Piranha and their civil name Anja. Occasionally she uses the alternative name Christiane bar that represents her alter ego.
Biography
Youth and early career
Pyranja grew up with her brother in Rostock and completed her high school diploma in 1998. She started at the age of twelve, to be interested in hip-hop, first in the form of breakdancing. At 16, she wrote her first rap lyrics; a year later, the first appearance. After spending a year in Boston (USA ), where she met the hip hop culture in their country of origin, she moved back to Berlin, when she saw the best opportunities for their advancement in Rapbranche there. Early supporters and pioneers were the friendly rap groups DCS and the Underdog Cru. The new musical contacts followed by several feature posts for other artists, including Joe Rilla.
Roots and Wings (2001-2003)
In 2001, she went along with Curse, DCS, & Jaleel Tefla and Lenny on the so-called " fire water " tour, which they scene internally to a greater extent could draw attention to themselves. Women & Technology (2004/2005)
In 2004, Pyranja their own independent label Pyranja Records to henceforth operate independently can. There also released their second album "Women & Technology", which was originally planned as a mixtape, as well as the single release appeared " line for you." In the same year she founded with their East German colleagues Joe Rilla, Dra -Q, and Jamie White Rapformation the Ostblokk. The name refers to the East German origin of the members. Volume up and down (since 2006)
The year 2006 began with the release of the single " Never Again", which reached number 87 of the singles chart. Pyranja Records
The founding their own record label indenpendent PyranjaRecords happened in July 2004 on the occasion of the release of their second album, Women & technology. In 2004, she said in an interview on their label as follows:
" When I was at Major, all with whom I wanted to work, first asked for the money. Now I get so much more, though I have absolutely no coal. [ ... ] Besides, I 'm label boss, chief marketing officer, promo chick, controller, Product Manager and A & R in one. I started very small and divided everything to me. At some point, the time came where all this was not to do it alone. And by chance I got myself more and more people in the boat. Of course I will help Ostblokk guys, wherever they can. A friend helped me with the promo, a friend has booked me for the tour with Planet Asia, I was with the people of "Status Yo!
