The cone head horror ( Pyrgomorphidae ) are a family within the Grasshopper ( caelifera ). The name derives from the conical head of the insect.

Features

Cone head terror among the larger Grasshopper and reach a body length of 60-72 millimeters. You can relatively easily be identified by their often striking bright colors. These are primarily the deterrence of enemies. A number of species can also discard a foamy defensive secretions.

Within the species occur on all the variations of wing regression.

Food

Most species feed on leaves, rarely of grass.
