Pyrgos (Greek Πύργος ( m. sg. ) ) Is a Greek city on the Peloponnese and was until 2010 the capital of the Elis Prefecture. Through the incorporation of three neighboring communities on January 1, 2011, the congregation grew to more than 50,000 inhabitants, of whom about 24,000 live in the urban core.

The Greek national football team, Georgios Karagounis ( European Champion 2004) was born in Pyrgos.
