Pyrimethanil is a chemical compound selected from the group consisting of anilino- pyrimidines. It belongs to the AP fungicides that act via inhibition of methionine synthase.
Production and representation
Pyrimethanil may be obtained by reaction of 4,6-dimethyl- 2-methyl- sulfonylpyrimidin with formanilide and hydrochloric acid.
Admission
The European Commission decided in 2006 to take pyrimethanil for uses as fungicide in the list of permitted for crop protection agents. The production-related contamination of pyrimethanil with cyanamide was considered questionable, the cyanamide content must not exceed 0.5 g / kg.
In Germany, Austria and Switzerland pesticides are approved with this drug.
