Pyrvinium is a drug against worm infections of the digestive tract in humans. Pyrvinium belongs to the group of quinolinium salts.

Medicine

The active ingredient is used as a salt of embonic ( pamoic ). Pyrviniumembonat or Pyrviniumemboat is a crystalline salt of bright orange -red color. In water, it does not dissolve. By suitable excipients Pyrviniumemboat is formulated as a coated tablet or suspension.

Application

Pyrvinium effective against pinworms ( Oxyuriasis ). The drug caused by disruption of the sugar intake of the worms dying off, as they are no longer able to adequately feed. Pyrvinium is apparently absorbed only a small percentage in the bloodstream.
