PZL M28

The M-28 Skytruck is a short-range transport aircraft, the Polish manufacturer PZL Mielec. It originated from the Soviet Antonov An - 28th The two turboprops driven M-28 is characterized by STOL ( off distance: 325 m) and can operate from makeshift airfields. It is available in a passenger version with 19 seats, as well as a freight version ( 3085 kg payload ), as air ambulance and as a military transport. A slightly different version of the M-28 is sold under the name M-28 Bryza.

Export

The Spezialeinsätzkräfte the U.S. Air Force ( AFSOC ) received a total of ten machines, of which the first is to be delivered in June 2009. The aircraft belonged to the 318th Special Operations Squadron ( Special Forces squadron ) of the 27th Special Operations Wing ( Special Forces Squadron ) on the Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico. The aircraft will be purchased by the Sierra Nevada Corporation as middlemen. The machines were under the designation C- 145A, inter alia, used in Afghanistan and Africa. In April 2013, the machines and their crews were transferred to the 6th Special Operations Squadron at Duke Field, Florida.
