Qaraoun culture
The Qaraoun culture is an archaeological culture of the pre-pottery Neolithic in Lebanon.
The culture was discovered by Henri meat and confirmed by Alfred Rust and Dorothy Garrod. Meat refers to the industry of this culture as schwerneolithisch ( Gigantolithic, gros Néolithique or Heavy Neolithic ) because of the large dimensions of the tools.
James Mellaart suggested a dating of Qaraoun - culture prior to a period prior to the ceramic Neolithic at Byblos.
Maya Haidar Boustani noted in a recent study that the chronology of Qaroun culture is uncertain and requires further investigation.
