Qareh

Qareh was an ancient Egyptian petty king of the Second Intermediate. He is occupied only with his own name on scarabs. The name is probably of Semitic origin.

In older literature, this ruler appears as Qur Qar or Qal. Kim Ryholt assigns him to the throne name Chaweserre, which is also occupied only on scarabs that time. He sees him as a ruler of the 14th Dynasty. Thomas Schneider and Jürgen von Beckerath see him as a ruler of the 16th Dynasty. James P. Allen sees the possibility that it was one of the first Hyksos rulers (15th Dynasty).
