Qashqadaryo River

The Qashqadaryo, also Kashkadaria ( Uzbek in Cyrillic and Russian Қашқадарё Кашкадарья ), is a river in the south of Uzbekistan.

The Qashqadaryo rises in the western slopes of the Hissar and Serafschangebirges and seeps in the Karschisteppe. The catchment area is about 8780 km ². The river receives additional water from the Zeravshan, the third largest river of Uzbekistan, on the Eskianhor channel and is dammed in its upper reaches to Chimkurgan reservoir. Important tributaries are Aksu, Tanchasdarja, Jakkabagdarja ( Kysyldarja ) and Gusardarja.
