Qiao Hong

Qiao Hong (Chinese乔 红/乔 红, Pinyin Qiao Hong, born November 21, 1968 in Wuhan) is a Chinese table tennis player and five -time World Champion.

Career

Qiao Hong began as a seven- year-old with the table tennis games. In 1987 she was invited to the Chinese national team. It was first nominated in 1988 for an international assignment: The International Championships in Moscow, she was ranked second

Qiao Hong is right-handed, she plays in shakehand style.

Achievements

Together with Deng Yaping Hong Qiao formed several years the world's best doubles.

At the World Championships in Dortmund in 1989 it was used only in the individual competitions. Here she won the world championship in singles and in doubles. More world title she won in 1993 and 1995 with the Chinese team in 1995 and in doubles. Four times she won silver at the World Championships: In a single 1995, double 1991 and 1993 as well as with the team in 1991.

Qiao Hong participated in the Olympic Games in 1992 and 1996. Both times she won at the side of Deng Yaping gold in doubles. In some she took silver in 1992 and bronze in 1996.

End of international career

In 1996 she resigned from the international competitive sport. This year, she moved to Japan and joined the club Panasonic Electric Co. Ltd.. as to players coach. In 2000, she returned to China and began a physical education degree. From 2003 to 2005 she coached the Chinese national team. In 2005 she applied unsuccessfully for the post of head coach of the women's team.
