Qionglai Mountains

The Qionglai Mountains or Qionglai Shan (邛 崃 山/邛 崃 山, Qionglai Shan) is a part of the Qinghai -Tibet Plateau. It borders the Sichuan Basin ( Red Basin ) one at its western edge and forms the border with the West Sichuan Plateau ( chuanxi Gaoyuan ). It is the watershed between the rivers Min Jiang and Dadu He. It consists mainly of granite, basalt and limestone. It extends in a north-south direction and covers the mountains Bawang Shan, Shan Jiajin, Erlang Shan and Balang Shan. The highest peak is 6250 meters with the Siguniang Shan四姑娘山in the border area of the circles Xiaojin and Wenchuan. Giant pandas and snub nose monkeys live on its territory.
