Military training ground

The Quail Iceland Air Weapons Range was used from 1945 to 1979 as a training ground for the armed forces. As a result, dangerous munitions remnants were still partially scattered all over the island. A lasting three years, clean-up began in 2011 to remove dangers of unexploded ordnance. The island was closed during the cleanup for visitors such as tourists and anglers.
