Quantum Sports Cars

The Quantum Sports Cars Ltd. is a British automobile manufacturer in Loddiswell at Kingsbridge (Devon) has been based since 1987. The company was founded by Mark Harvey and Woodridge.

The first model was the Quantum Mk 1, a sedan based on the Ford Fiesta, but with a longer, rounder body. Due to the lower weight compared to the Ford driving performance were significantly better. The first two cars were tested by family and friends. The third car was the first to come in the sale after a few test drives by car magazines and promotional events

In 1991, the company made a revised version of the sedan, which was based on the second series of the 1984 Fiesta, which was available at an affordable price now in sufficient quantity to serve as a donor vehicle for Quantum.

From 1993, we also offered a 2 2 convertible, which was also built on the Fiesta '84.

A 2 2 model ( with the number Q2 -275, see photo ) with a 2.0 liter engine rather than the engine of the Fiesta XR2 was presented in many automotive magazines (eg in KitCar magazine of August 1999 ) and also for the BBC their TV car magazine Top Gear provided. Jeremy Clarkson and his wife drove it and compared it with high-volume sports car, like the Mazda MX5. The only complaints were the smell of new fiberglass parts.

The company is also supported by an active owners club.
