Quarto dei Mille

Quarto dei Mille, or simply Quarto, is a residential neighborhood of the Italian port city of Genoa. The district lies to the east of the city between the neighborhoods Sturla and Quinto al Mare and has direct access to the Gulf of Genoa.

(: Quarto of thousand German ) renamed to 1861, the district was at that time still independent municipality, Quarto al Mare known as, but thereafter the thousand was named in honor of the train in Quarto dei Mille.

1926 Quarto lost its independence and was annexed by the plans of the fascists from a large Genoa in the Ligurian capital.

Today, the district is one of the Munizip IX Levante and has a population of 8288th until 1997 Quarto was a part of the municipality Sturla - Quarto.
