Quatrain

Quartet is the name given to Verslehre one of the two four-line stanzas in a sonnet; these are the first two stanzas.

In the so -called " strict sonnet " the quartets are linked by rhymes. In the German sonnet of the 20th century, the quartets rhyme usually only in itself

In the sonnet, the outer shape corresponds to the ideal case of the internal structure, the quartets form a tension-filled Opposite: The thesis in the first quartet follows the 2nd quartet the antithesis.
