Queen rock Montreal is published in 2007, sixth live album by British rock group Queen and contains footage from the concerts on 24 and 25 November 1981 in Montreal, the second largest city in Canada. These appearances viewers before each 18,000 were for the movie Queen - We Will Rock You recorded, had its premiere in 1983.

Queens Concerts at the Montreal Forum were - more than a month after the end of the Latin American tours - have been recognized especially for the film version; before the band had already occurred three times in this hall. Queen rock Montreal documented Queens last two concerts in four-man line-up - no extra keyboardist, as in the following performances. For the first time the group was played by her recently released single Under Pressure, who just finished the top of the British charts at that time. The last time heard in the concert program were both the title Let Me Entertain You and I'm in Love with My Car and Roger Taylor's drums solo. Unlike a DVD album queen rock Montreal includes the previously unreleased live recordings of originating from the Flash Gordon soundtrack pieces Flash and The Hero, of which only the audio tracks, but no more film recordings are available. Queens cover version of Jailhouse Rock is placed in all publications of the concerts elsewhere than in the live performances, where the band played the song as part of the addition before We Will Rock You.

As a download single the label Parlophone published an abridged, 2:30 minutes long version of the title Keep Yourself Alive.

Movie We Will Rock You

The director and producer Saul Swimmer took Queens concerts in Montreal in anamorphic 35mm film format, making this film was named one of Brian May to a total of only three live recordings of the band in the " movie " format. During the filming, there were tensions between the music group and Swimmer and later came the break between them. The one and a half hour film came in 1984 under the title Queen - We Will Rock You in the cinemas. Against the wishes of the band appeared a VHS release of the concert film. Later, another video and DVD versions were released. Brian May repeatedly criticized the publication policy Swimmers and expressed his dissatisfaction at the fact that Queen had no control over the film for legal reasons.

DVD " Queen rock Montreal and Live Aid "

In cooperation with the Eagle Rock label, the band acquired in 2006 the rights to this concert film. The images were digitally restored. A fundamental redesign of the film has not been possible because once the divestments in the cut footage was no longer available. The sound has been remixed from the original multitrack tapes for DTS Surround Sound and PCM Stereo. The single DVD queen rock Montreal contains, besides the concert recording new accompanying audio commentary by Brian May and Roger Taylor. The double DVD queen rock Montreal & Live Aid also includes the complete reproduction of famous Queens appearance at Live Aid charity concert on 13 July 1985 at London's Wembley Stadium. In addition, this includes selections from Queens samples for Live Aid (Hammer to Fall, Bohemian Rhapsody and Radio Ga Ga ) and a then run with the group interview. As part of the Live Aid finale at Wembley Freddie Mercury sang, accompanied by Brian May on acoustic guitar, Queens song Is This the World We Created.
