Queensland Academy of Sport

The Queensland Academy of Sport ( QAS also short ) is an institute for the promotion of competitive athletes in the Australian state of Queensland. It was founded in 1991 and is situated in the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre in Nathan, a suburb of Brisbane.

The Academy was opened in May 1991 and over 600 athletes in over 22 sports, including athletics, canoeing, cycling, gymnastics, hockey, netball, rowing, sailing, swimming and water polo.

In addition, the QAS maintains numerous partnerships with other team sport, including the Queensland Baseball Academy or Queensland Academy of Sport Volleyball.
