Queralt Castellet

Queralt Castellet Ibáñez ( born June 17, 1989 in Sabadell) is a Spanish snowboarder from Catalonia. It starts mainly in the disciplines of halfpipe and snowboard cross, but also competes in the Big Air and parallel giant slalom.

Castellet was already six years old on a snowboard, but is also active in other sports, it denies competitions in rhythmic gymnastics. Castellet, who says of himself, they would have preferred to wherever it has snow, began her international career in 2005 with the European Cup and FIS races. On 22 March 2005 she was in La Molina Spanish Champion in snowboard cross and made the day after the first victory in a FIS race, also in the Cross. At the Junior World Championships the same year, she could not put in scene. She made her World Cup debut in September 2005 in the Chilean Valle Nevado - unplaced as 42 but in front of the field - and starts since then regularly in the World Cup. Since the 2007/2008 season they could win a place in the top ten at each of their starts. Even at the Snowboard World Cup 2007 they had established with tenth place in the absolute world top.

At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin occupied the then sixteen space 26 in Halfpipe competition. Also in 2006, she won two Spanish championships, this time in the halfpipe and snowboard cross, also get their two victories in FIS races. Since the 2007 season, it focuses more on the half-pipe competition and achieved three podium finishes in the World Cup. In 2008 she was again national title holder, this time in the Big Air The 2009 season began for Castellet with the tenth place in the halfpipe competition in Saas -Fee.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010 she finished second in the qualifying round in the halfpipe 3rd place and was thus directly qualified for the final. In training it crashed shortly before the final, withdrew to a head injury, could therefore not participate in the finals and was ranked 12th

Castellet lives in her hometown Catalan Sabadell near Barcelona.
