Query by Humming

Query by Humming ( QBH ) is a content-based audio search that allows you to find songs by humming, whistling, or the like.

The hummed tune is prepared by being divided into segments which are then normalized. The result is then compared using a distance metric with an already existing database of pieces of music. This database contains already prepared, well- indexed- time series of pieces of music.
