Questions of Bartholomew

The St. Bartholomew's gospel is a gospel passion, that is, a gospel that deals primarily with the passion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is therefore also compare well with the ( apocryphal ) Gospel of Peter. It was written about 250 AD.

Bartholomew speaks with the risen Christ and with Mary and asks her to reveal to him many secrets, such as how Mary could receive him, who is above all else but bigger and more powerful, and what Jesus has done in hell. In addition, Bartholomew asks him to show him the devil. This reveals to him his secrets, as he was called, as he had been cast out of heaven, about the different types of angels. It is also interesting that in the Gospel of Bartholomew Hades, the Greek god of death, occurs.
