Quilliam (think tank)

The Quilliam Foundation was founded in April 2008 in London by dropouts from the Islamist scene and sees itself as anti- Islamist think tank. Under the leadership of the two directors Maajid Nawaz and Ed Husain ( author of The Islamist ) organized the Foundation research projects, public events and media campaigns. It is supported by many Muslim and non -Muslim intellectuals and celebrities. It is named after Sheikh Abdullah William Henry Quilliam (1856-1932), a British convert to Islam, who built the first mosque in Britain Liverpool.

Activity

The activities of the Quilliam Foundation are divided into three organizational units:

  • A Research and Publications Unit conducts research projects and policy advice to the integration of Muslims into Western civil societies and publishes appropriate media
  • As part of the Quilliam Outreach and Training Unit, a radicalization awareness training has been developed, which is carried out by former members of radical Islamic organizations
