Quirnheim

Quirnheim, Palatine " Querem ", is a municipality in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Bad Durkheim, located in the northwest of the European Metropolitan Region Rhine -Neckar. It belongs to the municipality green town and country.

Geography

Geographical location

The municipality is located in the Palatinate on a hill on the outskirts of the Haardt near the north end of the German Wine Route. The place belonged to the district of Frankenthal, until it was dissolved in 1969. 1972 Quirnheim was assigned to the newly created municipality green town and country.

History

Chronicle

In May 771, the Church of St. Mary and St. Martin was first documented. It is valid as the oldest church of the district. The district Boßweiler was already mentioned in the Lorsch Codex 767. 1467 came Quirnheim in the possession of the Counts of Leiningen- Westerburg.
