Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung

The book Quotations from Chairman Mao Zedong (Chinese毛主席 语录/毛主席 语录, Pinyin Mao zhǔxí yǔlù ) includes citations and publications Mao Zedong and is an important reference work for the political current of Maoism. It is also known as "The Little Red Book " or " Mao Bible ". Had great importance it especially in China in the Cultural Revolution ( 1966-1976 ). Structure and content

The book is divided into 33 chapters, each containing up to 25 short quotations of Mao Zedong on various topics, a total of 427 These quotes are taken from speeches and essays, as well as from the press, over a period of 40 years.

They deal with the CCP, warfare, revolutionary education, discipline, self-criticism, culture and other subjects and are without any direct link and without comment strung together.

Use

The Little Red Book was needed for mass actions of the Red Guards during the Cultural Revolution. It spread not only all over the Peoples Republic of China, but also in the European student movement of 1968.

A first German translation of Tilemann Grimm appeared in 1967 in the Fischer Library.

After the alleged coup attempt Lin Biao in 1971 were in China all obligations contained the preface recovered.
