Qurum

Qurum (Arabic القرم, DMG al - Qurum ) is a city that belongs to the wilaya Muttrah in Muscat Governorate and is located in the northeast of the Sultanate of Oman. It lies west of Ruwi and north of the Wilaya Madinat as -Sultan Qaboos.

It is divided into the Niyaba Qurum and Shati al - Qurum and extends from the east to the headland of Ras al- Hamra. Qurum is the Arabic word for mangrove; However, they are only to be found in Qurum National Park and Nature Reserve today.

Qurum is one of the best neighborhoods in the capital region and the location Qurum Heights is one of the most expensive in the country. As there began the building in the 1980s, they came across remains of prehistoric settlements dating back to 2000 BC, including on graves with grave goods, remains of lake dwellings and stone tools. Some discoveries are exhibited in several museums in the city.
