Quvenzhané Wallis

Quvenzhané Wallis [ kwəvɛnʒəneɪ ] ( born August 28, 2003 in Houma, Louisiana) is an American child actress.

Life

Became famous for the African American amateur actress by her starring role in Benh Zeitlins feature film Beasts of the Southern Wild ( 2012). In the " oscillating between fantasy and reality [n ] Drama " is to see it as six year old girl who is confronted in the remote marshlands of Louisiana to the destruction of their home by a severe storm and the death of the lone father (played by amateur actors Dwight Henry). Wallis's representation of the imaginative and close to nature " Hushpuppy " earned her several awards in addition also an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. At age nine, she is the youngest nominee in this category in the history of the Academy Awards ceremony and thus beat the previous record of New Zealander Keisha Castle- Hughes ( Whale Rider), which was in 2004 nominated at the age of 13 years for the prize as best actress.
