R. D. Burman

Rahul Dev Burman (* June 27, 1939 in Calcutta, † January 4, 1994 in Mumbai, often only RD Burman ) was an Indian composer of Hindi film.

Life

Burman was one of the most respected and successful composers for Hindi movies. He was the only son of Sachin Dev Burman famous composer. He appeared in the 1966 music scene with a smash hit in the movie Teesri Manzil. Since 1995, named after him Filmfare RD is Awarded Burman Award for New Music Talent from the Filmfare magazine.
