Roy Scott Dunbar is an American planetary scientist and asteroid explorer.
As an employee of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, he participated in the PCAS of the Palomar Observatory. In the course of this project, he discovered eight asteroids, six along with Eleanor Helin.
His work on the stability of Trojan -like librations in the system Earth-Sun led to the Palomar Observatory conducted scan utility Erdtrojanern.
Honors
The discovered by E. Helin and scolding John Bus asteroid ( 3718 ) Dunbar was named after him.
