R. Uccle Sport

Royal Uccle Sport is a sports club from the south of Brussels town Ukkel. The club was founded in 1901 playing in the colors blue and white. Today only, there is a tennis and hockey divisions. The footballers who were first class a few years, merged in 1990 with the football department of the Royal Léopold Club for Royal Léopold Uccle FC.

Football

Four years after the founding of the club in 1905 was admitted to the Union Belge des Sociétés de Sports Athlétiques and received the master number 15 climbed 1909 the club to the second division, where he remained two seasons. 1912 Uccle rose again in the second league, where the championship and the rise was achieved in the highest Belgian League, the First Division in season 1913/1914. Due to the First World War it was only for the season 1919/1920 to the first Erstligapartien. After two seasons, it went back to the second division, where in the season 1921/22, managed the immediate resurgence. But after only one year in turn was followed by the transition to the second division. 1926 Uccle Sport received the privilege to be allowed to call themselves Royal. 1947, the club was the last time for one season on the 1st league. Until 1958, the club held up to one year in the second division in 1965 was the descent into the fourth league. 1972 Uccle disappeared into the depths of the provincial leagues.

Hockey and tennis

In 1907 Uccle Sport built four tennis courts. 1930 started for sporting purposes in the winter months to play hockey. Even before the Second World War, the tennis and hockey players made independently and possessed at the time about six tennis courts and two hockey fields. For a mascot located on the chimney of the adjacent brewery Merlo in the form of a blackbird weathervane developed. When the chimney was demolished, the club purchased the vane, which has since been erected near the club entrance.

1952 joined the energeia TC at the club because he had to give up its plant near the Avenue Brugmann. Until the early 1970s the club complex grew to five Hockey fields and twelve tennis courts. In 1985, the first hockey artificial turf pitch was inaugurated. A second artificial turf followed in 2004.

Royal Uccle Sport is next to the Royal Club Léopold (1975 0-1 against SC Frankfurt 1880) reached the only Belgian Hockey Association of the playoffs to the European Cup. The men failed in Club Champions Cup in 1976 against Southgate HC 2:3, again in 1977 against South Gate 1:4 and 1984 against the TG Frankenthal 2:3. The ladies were also subject to the Club Champions Cup in 1974 the Harvestehuder THC 0:1 and 1979 the Amsterdam H & BC 1:3. Both the ladies who are Belgian giants, as well as the men play in the 2011/2012 season in the Eredivisie, the top domestic league championship.
