Raaba until the end of 2014, market town with 2204 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) southeast of Graz in the district of Graz-Umgebung in Styria. As part of the municipality of structural reform in Styria it is merged in 2015 with the municipality Gram Bach, the new community will be called market town Raaba -gram stream. This is based on the Styrian community structure reform law - StGsrG.

Geography

Geographical Location

Raaba is located on the south-eastern outskirts of the provincial capital of Graz in eastern Styria's hill at 350-506 m above sea level. The municipality is part of the Graz Basin.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Raaba.

Neighboring communities

History

The local church as an autonomous body created in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to Reichsgau Styria, 1945-1955, she was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria. In 2000 Raaba was raised to the market town.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 July 1987. Coat Description: Black a golden slant right bar, topped with four well- butting black car wheels; the beam on either side of a beseitet Golden Shamrock bar.

The Life Park in 2000 created by the merger of the Bohemian parks with the garden spot of reasons and has an area of approximately 11,000 m².

Traffic

The proximity to Graz Raaba is very conveniently located. The south motorway (A2 ) runs directly through the municipal area and can be reached via the junction Puchwerk on feeder road Graz-Ost in about 1 km. The church Straße (B 73) from Graz to Kirchbach in Steiermark is about 4 km away.

In Raaba is a train station of the Styrian Eastern Railway, the hourly regional train connections to Graz and track village offers. Graz Main Train Station is about 8 km away. Raaba is connected to the bus network of Graz AG transport services.

Distance from Graz Airport is approximately 7 km.
