Rabnitzbach

The Rabnitzbach ( the Rabnitz ) is one of the headwaters of the Raab. It rises near the Schoeckl and flows from north to south-easterly direction and flows near railway village in the Raab. He nevertheless reached approximately 21 km in length.

Water quality

The creek is almost natural and therefore the water quality class I. It is rich in fish, and one of the clean waters of Styria.

Hazards

The seemingly innocuous little stream can be used to flood risk and has already been several times a threat very quickly. By torrent control in exposed areas, this could be reduced without significantly harming nature.

Floods occurred recently in August 2008 in the municipality of slut -Wilfersdorf to massive floods, in which residential and a commercial area were flooded.
