Racey

Racey was a British pop band that were produced as many other bands of the 1970s by the then popular Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman and their typical sound embodied.

Band History

The group was founded in Weston-super-Mare/Somerset 1977. As the first hit Lay Your Love on Me came into the charts, the musicians had already played a long time in unsuccessful combos. Then took the composer Mickie Most and the team Chinn / Chapman them (except Lay Your Love on Me or Some Girls ). Them under their wing and missed two songs

Then Racey still managed two entrances into the charts. However, after they separated from Chinn / Chapman, the success subsided abruptly, and in 1985 the band broke up. In 1990 a new attempt was started. Together with Pete Miller and the new keyboardist Ian Hewitt, they played sold-out concerts. Pete Miller died on 6 May 2003 and was replaced by Richard Blake.
