Rachael Blake

Rachael Blake ( born May 26, 1971 in Perth, Western Australia ) is an Australian actress.

Life and achievements

Blake studied acting at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney. She made her debut in the Australian television series Home and Away, in which she played from 1995 until 1997. In the years 1997 to 1999, she starred in the television series Wildside, for which she the Australian Film Institute Award and was awarded the Australian Logie Award in 1998 in 1999. In the film drama Lantana (2001) she played a mistress of a married police officer Leon Zat (Anthony LaPaglia ). For this role she won the 2001 Australian Film Institute Award and - together with Barbara Hershey and other fellow - the IF Award. In 2002, she was nominated for the Film Critics Circle of Australia Award.

The main role in the thriller Perfect Strangers (2003 ), in which one of the supporting actors Sam Neill, Blake brought a price of film festivals Fanta Porto in 2004. For his role in the film drama Tom White (2004) she was nominated again in 2004 for the Film Critics Circle of Australia Award and won the Australian Film Institute Award.

Blake is married since 2003 to actor Tony Martin, with whom she played together in the series Wildside.
