Rachel Griffiths

Rachel Griffiths ( born December 18, 1968 in Melbourne, Victoria) is an Australian actress.

Family

Her mother was an art teacher, she herself acquired the teaching qualification at the former Victoria College, Rusden with a bachelor's degree in drama and dance. In December 2002, Rachel Griffith married the artist Andrew Taylor. The two are the parents of three children.

Career

Rachel Griffiths was known as an actress, especially in Australia by the surprise hit Muriel's Wedding, in which she represented the only true friend of the main character. Her first major U.S. film production was the film The wedding of my best friend, in which she played one of the bridesmaids. Was highly praised her portrayal of Hilary du Pré in the film Hilary and Jackie, for which she received an Oscar nomination as best supporting actress.

She was one of the main cast of the hit television series Six Feet Under - Died is always, in which she played the Brenda. For this they received the 2002 Golden Globe. Griffith wrote the screenplays and directed the productions Tulip and Roundabout.

From 2006 to 2011 she played the role of Sarah Walker Whedon in the series Brothers & Sisters.
